Jonathan Mason

I’m an ISA Certified Arborist with over 15 years of experience in urban forestry and environmental policy — and a genuine belief that trees are among the most undervalued assets in the modern landscape.

My introduction to trees was doing landscape work as a teenager in Mississippi. Later, as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar, I trained cacao farmers on tree management practices, and at Los Angeles Conservation Corps, I oversaw field crews to plant and maintain large caliper trees throughout the city. I have also published peer-reviewed research on the international trade of timber as a Research Analyst at World Resources Institute, and as the Director of Urban Forestry at One Tree Planted, I have evaluated municipal and non-profit urban forestry project designs, advising on species palettes, planting standards, and monitoring protocols.

I offer consulting arborist services to clients navigating complex decisions in the management of their trees.
